Marla Gottschalk is a self-taught abstract expressionist artist. Always passionate about art & design, she loves to create pieces that can live in both traditional and modern settings. She began painting in 2021 with sketches of floral & figurative subjects, finding art to be a perfect counter-balance to her work as an industrial/organizational psychologist.
Letting intuition be a guide when creating — has to led to a focus on dreamy color fields & soft movement. Inspired by the works of Helen Frankenthaler and British landscape artist J.M.W. Turner, the notion of blended color, movement and a hint of romanticism is integral to her style. Her ultimate goal is to create art that helps a collector feel inspired within their own space.
